**This syllabus is has been primarily designed for children aged between 3-6 years of age and will teach children the essential basics required for training in Taekwondo

Grading #1 (Understanding Taekwondo) White Belt: Yellow-Tag

Basics

X 10 Mid-section punch (Horse-riding stance)

X 10 High blocks (Horse-riding stance)

X 10 Outer blocks (Horse-riding stance)

Theory

Grading #2 (Discipline) White Belt: Double Yellow-Tag

Basics

Any previous techniques

X 10 Low blocks (Horse-riding stance)

Tests

Discipline test #1: Children will be running around, when given the command to “line-up” the children must stop the activity and run back to their marks and line-up in Shiuh (pronounced shee-uh) position

Discipline test #2: stand in attention position (Charyot Sogi) for a minimum of 10 seconds in complete silence.

Discipline test #3: Children will be in attention position (Charyot Sogi) and be given commands to either “stand-up” or “sit-down”. This must be done as soon as possible

Theory

Grading #3 (Listening) White Belt: Green-Tag

Listening test: A number of single blocks, strikes and combinations (eg punch, punch, high block, Outer block) will be called out by an instructor WITHOUT demonstration. Students must show they can listen to instructions and complete the moves required to a good standard on their own without copying others.

Grading #4 (Strength) White Belt: Double Green-Tag

Perform four consecutive front kicks with alternate legs followed by a high section block

Teamwork test #2 (Relay race): The children will organise themselves into two teams and race against each other. Each child will need to pass a baton to the next member of their team
