5.5th Kup grading syllabus (Green – Blue Tag)

Basics

Techniques specified on any previous syllabus

Downward pressing block (Walking stance)

Inner elbow strike (Long stance)

Elbow thrust (Horse-riding stance)

Half-turn, Back-fist (back stance)

Double knife-hand block (walking stance)

Back kick (Fighting stance)

Front kick, back-fist (Long stance)

Side kick, side kick (Fighting stance)

Jab and reverse punch combo; followed by high section turning kick (Fighting stance)

Side kick (Fighting stance)

Pattern
Taegeuk Sam Jang / Pattern #3 (first 5 moves)
Examiners choice

One Step Sparring

Stepping to the side with outer knife-hand block, followed by turning kick ribs (Attacker punches towards the face)

Pad Work

X10 Turning kicks (Holder and kicker will be examined) Alternate legs

Front kick, Push kick (Holder and kicker will be examined)

Sparring

Free sparring (Semi contact to body, advanced kicks required)

Self Defence

Wrist grab (cross-arm & mirror arm)
Double wrist grab
Double handed choke
Single collar grab

Theory

What Physical, social, mental benefits can be gained by practicing Taekwondo
Does practice make perfect? Explain how good practice can improve our Taekwondo and why bad practice is detrimental

Recite Korean terms for the following:
*Belt
*Back Kick
*outer Knife hand block

*This syllabus should be used only guideline of the level of techniques required to pass the grading. The examiner may ask for techniques not specified in this syllabus
